Do you have kids? Laia and I became the proud parents of a sweet baby girl. We named her Sparkie. She was born July 25th and she is now 7lbs and 2oz. She has really back hair and likes to bark. She is a black lab and the cutest thing you have ever seen!

Q: How did you get into radio?

A: God. Simple huh? God lead me there. I worked in radio early on in college but then God just opened some doors. I never intended to get back into it but our ways are not God's ways you know? I love being in God's will and I also really dig my job.

Q.: So, you work for 90.9 The Spark, have a recording studio, and play in bands. How do you manage it all?

A.: That is a very simple answer. A fantastic wife and a great bunch of volunteers!

Q: We heard somewhere that you like to produce music? Tell us about that and your recording studio!

A.: Yes, I have a recording studio called "Side Of The Road Studios" and I have been known to help people time to time in the recording/mix down process. I use Logic Pro Studio (9) and of course, Apple computers. As far as an interface goes, I use M-Audio, Edirol and Alesis device. I am also getting connected with a MOTU for live work. Q.: We have seen you play guitar with VICAR, Roadside Assistance and ApologetiX…what kind of guitar equipment do you use?

A: I use a Orange AD-30R. It is a monster of an amp. For a backup and studio use, I have a classic 1976 Peavy Tube Amp and it is a beast! As for guitars, I play a Fender Custom Strat (From the custom shop with EMG pickups) and a Buddy Guy signature. I also play a first edition custom Schecter, and I play Taylor Acoustic Guitars. (314CE and a very nice K24CE) When it comes to effects, I use a custom pedal board to manage the effects. I have also used Pedal Train pedal boards. These guys make great pedal boards. (www.pedaltrain.com) I use 2 voodoo labs pedal powers, Boss Delay & Rotary Pedal, Ernie Ball wah, Fulltone Full Drive pedal and a Tube Driver to push my Orange amp. I prefer natural distortion from the amp! Oh, and I support Apple computers! ;-)

Q.: Do you ever do speaking engagements at churches & events?

A: Yes, I have welcomed the invitations of churches for talks about radio & ministry and about my experiences in both. I also share my testimony of how God truly changed my life. If you are interested in having me, I would love to come sometime. Just contact me here at the office.
