Patricia
First, I thank The God and Father of Creation for saving my sin-sick soul. I am here at Living Water Radio Ministry by His Grace and Power.
In 1997, I was sitting in church, glancing through the bulletin. An announcement from KWRB caught my attention. They needed a morning announcer. Even though I had no previous broadcast experience or formal media communications training, something in my spirit was stirred. On Monday morning, I asked my husband to go with me to inquire about this position. During the meeting with Brayton Back (the former station manager), I was informed the position had been filled by Angie Keller. He wondered if I would be interested in recording the short programs. Hey, why not? I can do that. After three months, my husband looked at me one day and said, “ Angie will be leaving and you will take her place. I chuckled (Sarah) thinking how ridiculous that was. I was content recording the short programs. Two weeks later, Angie approached me. She said their family was being transferred to Germany. She had been praying and The Lord desired me to replace her as the morning announcer. I was shaking my head and trembling. Me? No experience, no credentials, no letters in front of or behind my name. How can this be? (Mary) Angie concluded the matter by saying she and the staff would be in prayer. After a week, Brayton pulled me aside and said they all felt The Lord desired me to take the 6-8 am on-air slot. I began to cry, mostly from fear. Later, I remembered a previous dream. I was sitting in my church. The Lord came to me and said, “ I want you to be involved in Living Water Ministry. ” As we all know, this was the logo for KWRB 90.9 FM radio station. (editor note - still KWRB but called 90.9 The Spark) So, I moved in the holy fear of The Lord. God has proven His faithfulness to equip those He has chosen. The Holy Spirit began to teach me the technicalities involved with radio broadcasting from a spiritual prospective. He has filled my mouth and spirit with the wisdom of God. I give God all the praise for what He has done in and through me during my tenure here. It has been my honor and joy to be the servant of The Most High God over the past six years at 90.9 The Spark. I have a pastoral heart for each of our listeners. It is my hope and prayer that we will continue to grow in love and in the knowledge of God to fulfill His purpose in our lives.
