Frequently Asked QuestionsWhere did you get the name, 'The Spark'.Arron Daniels, Station Manager, wanted to give the station a name to make it easier to refer to other than KWRB. (note, KWRB are the call letters that the FCC has given the station for its license to broadcast. Radio stations are not required to use the call letters as the name of the station, however many do.)When Arron took the job, he began to pray about the name and seek council from friends. One of his good friends, J. Jackson, lead singer and songwriter for ApologetiX suggested the name and a few others. After much prayer and a list of 6 possible names, God revealed, 'The Spark' was the one.
Why 'The Spark'?It takes a spark to light a fire. The ministry that God has established in Sierra Vista is a spark to get you thinking about things above (GOD!). Perhaps you don't know or have a relationship with Jesus Christ. This station will introduce you to His love for us. Perhaps you do know Him but have lost contact...your flame has gone out. Hopefully we can help.
What does 'Positive Hit Radio' mean?We play hit songs that have a positive message. It is that simple.
So why not just say, 'Great Christian Music'?Paul said we need to be all things to all people. ( 1 Cor. 9:20-22) We wanted to have a tag line and name for the station that would not immediately tip off that we were a Christian station. It is not that we are trying to hide the fact that we are a Christian station, but we know from much research that when non-Christians hear that it is Christian station, they will not even tune in. They have a preconceived notion of what Christian radio is and we hope to put an end to that.We want non-Christians to tune in and see what our station is all about. We think that they will be surprised at how much music with a positive message effects their lives. So, 'Positive Hit Music' it what we came up with.
Does your station have a 'Life Verse'?We don't have a life verse, but we do have a few scriptures that we look to as part of our vision for this station. They are:Habakkuk 2:24 - For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. Romans 15:21 - They who had no news of Him shall see, and they who have not heard shall understand. If you have a question about this station that has not been addressed here, please feel free to email it to Arron Daniels, station manager.
