    SPARK PLUGS!

Spark Plugs is the name for our Public Service Announcement service that is free of charge!

If your church or non-profit organization has an event coming up we can include that in the The Spark's Community Calendar. The Calendar airs randomly throughout the day, seven days a week. The amount of airplay an announcement receives will vary, dependent upon how many events we have that happen before or in the same time frame.

    Guidelines For On-Air Promotions

All announcements must be submitted at least two weeks in advance by mail, email or fax. Due to the time sensitive nature and the time it takes to produce spots, if your event is less than two weeks, we will not be able to air it. In fairness to everyone who submits their announcement on time, there are no exceptions to this rule.

    Email - info@sparkfm.com

Only basic information is needed. Remember the Who, What, When, Where and Why.

All announcements must have a contact name and phone number attached. If not, we can not run the announcement. This info is needed in case there is a question.

During a very heavy event period, 90.9 The Spark reserves the right to pick and chose the events that we feel will be of most value to the audience we serve.

90.9 The Spark reserves the right to edit event information or decline an event in order to meet The Spark's broadcasting standards.

We also ask that churches do not submit more than two public service announcements at a time. We ask this to keep things fair to all the hard-working churches in our area get a chance to have their announcements aired as well. Thanks for your understanding on this.

If you wish to promote an event more often and you are a non-profit organization (must have 501-(C)3 from IRS) then you are eligible to underwrite spots (air-time) from 90.9 The Spark. If you wish to do so, read the next section called, "Big Time Promotion!"

    Big Time Promotion!

90.9 The Spark is a non-commercial, 501(C)3 non-profit radio station. Because of our licensing arrangement and FCC guidelines, The Spark can only promote events for other non-profit 501(C)3 organizations. This should include most non-profit organizations and churches.

If you do not have 501(C)3 status, 90.9 The Spark can not
promote your event beyond the Spark Plug Program (Community Calendar).

To protect the sound and the integrity of our broadcast day, The Spark needs to limit the amount of promotional time on our airwaves. They earlier we know of your interest in promoting an event the better we can serve you.

Promotional time is blocked by the week. $300 is the cost to promote you event for 1 week.

1 Week of promotion includes a 30 second spot that airs 4 times each day, Monday through Friday.

The spot will air once in each part of the day. Once in the Morning (6am-10am) Once in the Mid-Day (10am-2pm), once in the Afternoon (2pm-6pm) and once in the Evening (6pm-10pm).

    • The spot will be produced "in-house" with 90.9 The Spark's staff and resources.
    • Plenty of advance notice is vital..2 weeks necessary, 6 weeks preferred.
As with anything that is aired on 90.9 The Spark, we reserve the right to edit event information or refuse to promote an event that we determine is not a good "fit" with our station or audience.

    Business Underwriting

90.9 The Spark has several ways your business can underwrite a portion of the broadcasting day. Before we get started, let us explain a few things that might make this brochure easier to understand.

90.9 The Spark, is a listener-supported, non-commercial, Christian radio station. Our license with the FCC does not allow us to sell advertising. We are however, allowed to say, 'thank you', to individuals, business and ministries that financially support 90.9 The Spark through our 'Underwriting Programs'.

FCC Underwriting Guidelines do not allow is to:

Use language that would give your business or ministry an advantage over similar businesses or ministries. (Ex. - best burgers/fastest service)

We can not state prices or tell our listeners to mention our name and get '10% Off!'.

We cannot give a call to action. (Ex. - Go, stop by, visit online, call)

What we can do is say thank you and state your name, address, phone number, what you do, and website/email address.

    Example:

"A portion of today's broadcast is being underwritten by Joe's Crab Shack. Joe's Crab Shack is located at 917 Narrow Way. Their phone number is 555-4434. 90.9 We thank Joe's Crab Shack for their support of 90.9 The Spark"

For more information on how you can get your business signed up as an Underwriter, contact Arron Daniels.

    Spark On Wheels

Spark On Wheels is where 90.9 The Spark comes out to your event, sets up a sound system and DJ's your event. This is also called a 'Remote Broadcast'.

We would love the chance to work with you on your event. Here are some quick guidelines that will make this easier to plan.

Events are scheduled one month in advance. This will ensure that we have staff available to be at your event.

Dates come on a first come, first serve basis. We can't work two events at the same time, so be sure to schedule early!

We do not charge for doing remote broadcasts. We do these on our own time because we want to take an active roll in our community. That said, a love offering is appreciated.

To request Spark On Wheels for your event, just email Arron Daniels with the request. (arron@sparkfm.com)

    The Spark's K.I.D. Identification Event

The Spark's K.I.D. Identification Program is a program set up to digitally photograph, video, biometric fingerprint** and document your child in the event of an emergency. It provides all the necessary information recommended by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for police use. All information is digitally stored on a CD which is given to the parent/guardian for their safe keeping. At no time, does 90.9 The Spark keep the data or turn it over to police. Once the CD is burned, the information is deleted automatically from our system.

90.9 The Spark will come to your event and not only provide great music, but also set up and provide this program free of charge to all who attend.

If interested in a booking a K.I.D. Identification Event, please contact Arron Daniels.
